Macau, China 18th century (1700-1800) $25,000.00 An 18th century embroidered silk coverlet likely created for the European market in the Portuguese colony of Macau, China. The textile consists four silk-satin panels sewn together onto a silk-satin lining: the two central panels are relatively narrow, with the side panels wider. The condition is very good considering the age: the fringe and lining are in excellent condition, with minor fraying to parts of the embroidery, as well as a few small stains, several large very faint water stains, few small areas of silk splits along the periphery, as well as several small holes, the largest of which measures 1/4". 87" x 71" including fringe. 2323Contact Us About This Item: |
