Japan Mid-Edo (1725-1825) $5,000.00 A very fine and relatively large silk fukusa featuring exceptional embroidery of the perfect wedding match: ornate octagonal 'kaioke' containers for the shell-matching game 'kai-awase' favoured by nobles. Good condition, with several areas of silk splitting on the fine blue silk background, as well as many small areas of darkening of the blue background.
